Joana Costa is an Assistant Professor at the School of Technology and Management the of the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria, and a researcher at the Adaptive Computation (AC) Group of the Centre for Informatics and Systems of the University of Coimbra (CISUC). She concluded her PhD in 2018, and her main research interests include text classification, particularly regarding information extraction in social networks, adaptive learning in dynamic environments and classification strategies using crowdsourcing and active learning.
I am an Assistant Professor at the Department of Informatics Engineering, University of Coimbra and a researcher at the Centre for Informatics and Systems of the University of Coimbra (CISUC). My research interest are on developing algorithms to model biological problems, especially applying generative models for de novo Drug design and model Drug-Target associations. I have been involved in several Research Projects funded by European and National funds.
Teresa Gonçalves is Associate Professor at the Department of Informatics, School of Sciences and Technology, University of Évora and a researcher at ALGORITMI research center. She graduated (1992) and received the MSc (1996) degree in Informatics Engineering from the Faculty of Science and Technology, New University of Lisbon and the PhD (2008) in Informatics from University of Évora.
Her current research interests include include classification strategies using transfer and active learning, information extraction, recommendation systems and evolutionary algorithms. She has over 100 publications including books and papers in international journals and conferences.
