Catarina Silva is Auxiliar Professor at the Computer Engineering Department of the
Faculty of Science and Technology and of theUniversity of Coimbra. She
graduated in Electrotechnical Engineering (1997), received the the M.Sc. (2000) and PhD
(2009) degrees in Informatics Engineering from the University of Coimbra, Portugal. Her
current research interests include intelligent systems applied to text mining and also
mobile application development. She has over 70 publications including books and papers
in international journals and conferences. She is a researcher at the research Center
for Informatics and Systems of the University of Coimbra. She is vice-chair of the IEEE
Portugal and she is member of Portuguese Association of Pattern Recognition.
Joana Costa is an Assistant Professor at the School of Technology and Management the of the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria, and a researcher at the Adaptive Computation (AC) Group of the Centre for Informatics and Systems of the University of Coimbra (CISUC). She concluded her PhD in 2018, and her main research interests include text classification, particularly regarding information extraction in social networks, adaptive learning in dynamic environments and classification strategies using crowdsourcing and active learning.
Teresa Gonçalves is Associate Professor at the Department of Informatics, School of Sciences and Technology, University of Évora and a researcher at ALGORITMI research center. She graduated (1992) and received the MSc (1996) degree in Informatics Engineering from the Faculty of Science and Technology, New University of Lisbon and the PhD (2008) in Informatics from University of Évora.
Her current research interests include include classification strategies using transfer and active learning, information extraction, recommendation systems and evolutionary algorithms. She has over 100 publications including books and papers in international journals and conferences.
