Luis F. Teixeira holds a Licenciatura (5-year degree) in Electrical and Computer Engineering (2001), an MSc in Computer Networks and Services (2004) and a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering (2009), from Universidade do Porto. Currently he is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Informatics Engineering, Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto (FEUP), and a researcher at Center for Telecommunications and Multimedia of INESC TEC. Previously he was a researcher at INESC Porto (2001-2008), Visiting Researcher at the University of Victoria (2006), and Senior Scientist at Fraunhofer AICOS (2008-2013). His main research topics are computer vision, machine learning and human-centered computing. Luis F. Teixeira has participated in 9 concluded projects (EU-funded, national and contracts), one of which as co-PI at FEUP. He has co-authored 30+ publications in international journals and conferences, having gathered 470+ citations to his publications. He has also been teaching Computer Vision and multiple other courses for the graduate studies, in particular in the areas of Programming and Software Development. He (co-)supervised or is (co-)supervising 70+ MSc students and 4 PhD students.
